Back in the early years of the twentieth century, there were about 100,000 children sent to Canada from England. Many of them were treated as slaves and few would even talk about their experiences when they grew older. This novel tells the story of Arthur Fellowes who came to work on a farm in Ontario. The story uncovers secrets about the family he lives with and about the people in the young town of London.
